Invitation in three weeks, hoping this comes to fruition

She said my POI would extend an invitation to me with his email, and I was hoping it would be him asking me to see him. But nothing. She said he was experiencing physical, emotional pain but he was so happy in his email. Everything was opposite to what she said. I had high hopes he would express his feelings and apologize for the distance he caused, advisor said he would, but nothing. Just disappointed.
